January 13, 1978 – August 31, 2026
Jason Forrester, 48, passed away on August 31, 2026 leaving behind a family who loved him deeply, countless stories that will be told for years to come, and probably at least one engine he was in the middle of rebuilding.
Born January 13, 1978, in Torrance, California to Steven and Sheryl Forrester, Jason lived his life in Paso Robles since he was just 5 years old. Jason was a motor head from the start. He built his career as an automotive block machinist with Rodeck Aluminum Blocks right out of high school until they sold to Alan Johnson Performance Engineering, where he spent another twelve years. Most recently he was the friendly face behind the counter at O’Reilly Auto Parts with Tom and the crew. Jason was the go-to mechanic to his friends and family; if it had a motor, chances were Jason could somehow bring it back to life.
Jason’s greatest gift was his huge heart. He was compassionate, fiercely loyal, and loved his family deeply. As the brother of two sisters, Jill and Jenna, he took his role as their protector very seriously.
Jason was also ridiculously funny. His sense of humor could light up a room, and his Chris Farley impression was uncanny. He loved hip hop and rap music, UFC fights and boxing matches. Some of his best times were spent riding three-wheelers in the riverbed with his best friends, racing RC cars and making memories out on Lake Nacimiento aboard the two boats he owned over the years. He also loved hosting fight nights at his house, where friends and family gathered to eat, laugh, and just enjoy being together.
Jason also knew his way around the kitchen and the grill. His grilled chicken was simply the best, his jalapeño poppers were famous, his deviled eggs and pea salad were ridiculously good, and his chocolate chip cookies never lasted long. Feeding people was just another way Jason showed his love.
Jason is survived by his mother, Sheryl Forrester; sisters, Jill Ponti and Jenna Malone; niece, Reese Ponti; nephew, Aiden Ponti; and his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, and best friend, Steven Forrester, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
