passed away on July 31, 2024 at the
age of 65 years.
Joe was born in Tawas City, Michigan on May 26, 1959
He worked as a Purchaser and Supply Clerk on government contracts, including a job in Antarctica. Joe also held jobs as a purchaser for racing car parts and manufacturing parts for Piper Airplanes in Santa Maria, CA.
Joe enjoyed his sports and played a good game of golf like his parents. Joe was a football fan of the Chiefs, his brother Jim, a Raiders fan. They looked forward to the rival games each year.
Joe is survived by his sister Karen and brother-in-law Eugene Long. He has 2 nephews, Shawn (Penny) Long, Jesse (Kolby) Long and a niece Jenifer Long,
8 grand nephews and nieces and a great grandnephew and great grandniece all of Lompoc, CA.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Carrol and Dolores Buford and his older brother Jim.
A private family ceremony of scattering of ashes off the central coast of California,
as his brother Jim had years ago, will be at a later time.
