March 7, 1913 – September 26, 2014
Mary Elizabeth Hamilton Hardie, 101, loving mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt entered into rest on Sept. 26, 2014, in Paso Robles, CA at home. She was born in Livingston, Montana to William Peter & May Elizabeth Russell Hamilton. She had three older brothers, William (Bill), Russell and Thomas (Tucker). She attended school in Livingston and college at Montana State in Bozeman. She married Robert (Bob) Arthur Hardie in 1933.
In 1943 the family moved to Southern California. Bob, Mary and their children lived in the Hollywood Hills until they moved to the San Fernando Valley in December 1948. In 1997 Mary moved with her daughter to Paso Robles where she enjoyed entertaining her many friends from So. CA and family members from all over the country as well as her new found friends in Paso Robles.
She loved the garden, especially her roses & orchids, and her cats. Mary is survived by her sons Robert and John, daughter Betsy, grandchildren Spencer & Morgan and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was an exceptional person. She was bright, kind, loving and had a wonderful sense of humor (unless when playing cards she lost to her brother Tucker). She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
There will be a rosary said Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima church on Creston Rd. in Paso Robles will be held Wed., Oct. 1, at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills, CA
