Patricia Ann Padilla, aka: Big Red/Chicken, a life-long resident of Paso Robles, died March 21, 2018 in Tehachapi, CA. Patricia was born Dec. 30, 1931 in Kirksville, MO. When she was 3 yrs. old, her family moved to California. As a child, Patricia lived in Templeton, Atascadero, Bradley, and finally Paso Robles.
Patricia worked many occupations including: Supervisor in the Camp Roberts Officer's Dining Hall, waitress at Hudson's Café, CNA at Paso's War Memorial Hospital & Twin Cities Hospital, and private home healthcare. Her most fulfilling occupation was being a wife and mom. She loved her family!
Patricia started dating her future husband, Pascual Padilla in 1952. They loved to dance and went to the C & J, The Plains Bar, Dusi's and their favorite place, The Eagles Hall. She married the love of her life on June 19,1954. Together they have 3 children.
Patricia's nickname, "big Red" has a special meaning: "Don't p____ her off." She had a temper and was a true mama bear when someone messed with her family. She was an excellent shooter with her 22 rifle. You knew you were in trouble if she gave you the Allred look.
Patricia was very busy with her children. She served as a den leader for Blue Birds and Campfire girls, swim practice for the Paso Robles Swim Team, her daughter to Robellettes synchronized swim team, many baseball, softball, football practices and games, music, and Boy Scout meetings.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Regina Padilla-Bohanon (Charles), Sons, Pascual Martin Padilla (Krista), and Michael Padilla (Tami), many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her husband, Pascual, and her parents, John & Martha Allred preceded her in death.
Mom, you will be missed, but forever loved. You were a caring soul, and always put us, kids, first. We love you! Regina, Martin & Michael.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Mar. 31, at 11 am at Paso Robles District Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home.
