It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Huntley. She was at her home surrounded by family on January 4, 2026 in Paso Robles. Phyllis was born on September 29, 1937, in Bakersfield, California. She is loved and survived by her two daughters, Linda Abbott and husband, Norman Abbott, Laurie Lahr and husband, Tommy Lahr.
Family and Loved Ones
Phyllis’s legacy endures through her beloved grandchildren: Jeff and Lisa Leopard, Travis and Cate Leopard, Amanda and Jared Pickens, Aaron and Lauren Charlton, and Ryan Charlton. Her family grew with the joy of her nine great-grandchildren, including Evelyn, Jacob, Asher, Addison, Grayson, Brayden, Maddox, Emilee, and Camille, each a cherished addition to her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Beverly Flores, and her sister-in-law, Linda Rogers. The love she shared extends to her many nieces and nephews, all of whom feel her absence deeply and mourn her passing.
Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lowell Huntley; her later in life partner, Donald Elmer; her parents, Richard and Phyllis Rogers; her brother, Blaine Rogers; her grandson, Chad Leopard; and her brother-in-law, John Flores.
Life and Legacy
Phyllis will be remembered for her love of good food, her enjoyment of puzzles and books, and her cherished weekly Yahtzee games with friends. Above all, she found deep joy in the company of family and friends. Her warmth, strength, and zest for life touched everyone who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and inspiration that will be carried forward by all who shared her remarkable journey.
Memorial Arrangements
A life celebration will be held on January 25th, 2026, at the Quail Run Estates, in the clubhouse. From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
