Sally’s husband, William Junge predeceased her in December 2018. She is survived by her brothers; Richard Zeches (Sharon) and Jim Zeches (Kathy); her nieces Nancy Zeches (Edric) and Karen Skahill (Kevin); her Nephew Brian Zeches (Ashley); as well as her six grand-nieces and nephews: Emily, Danny, Simonne, Ryan, Colton, and Briley.
A graduate of Westchester High School in 1960, Sally became close friends to her now sister-in-law, Sharon, who both shared many fond memories throughout the years. Sally attended Santa Monica City College and then entered the Aerospace Industry as an Administrative Assistant where she worked within the industry for 41 years. Upon her retirement in 2003 she and her husband, William, moved to Paso Robles, California.
During Sally’s retirement, she loved to work in her garden nurturing her roses, and always had fresh flowers on the table. She enjoyed crocheting booties and blankets and creating sweatshirts that she sold at local craft fairs. As a testament to Sally’s infectious personality, she had a close group of friends with whom she enjoyed exercising, playing Bunco, playing golf, and attending her wine club events.
She actively affected change in her community as a member of the Assistance League of San Luis Obispo. Sally was an avid shopper, a hobby she shared with her mother, Dorothy. Always impeccably dressed herself, one of her favorite volunteer opportunities was taking the children from the Assistance League to shop for new school clothes.
Sally’s love of shopping was only surpassed by her love of chocolate. Her nieces and nephew could always count on a box of See’s candies appearing during visits. Additionally, Sally loved her pups! Trouble, Pokey, Chucker, and Shiloh were the lucky recipients of her affection as well as nightly “frosty paws” and Haggen Dazs ice cream cups. Shiloh was her constant companion for over 14 years, especially after her husband’s passing.
Sally never aspired to be the center of attention, but her smile, kindness, and sense of humor would light up a room. Whether it was a funny memory, a big hug, or her fun-loving approach to life, she connected with her friends and family in a way that made a lasting impression. Sally will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is forever in our hearts.
