

Alma Jean Basye, age 74, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Mount Carmel East Hospital, she was surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born on August 14, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Richard and Norma Six.
Alma is survived by her loving children, Eve and Richard (Angee Zyvonoski) Basye; step-grandchildren, Jacob and Reagan Elswick; sisters, Janice Six, Mary Ogle, and Judy (Fred) Bussey; sister-in-law, Pat Lewis; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Eddie Basye; and brothers-in-law, Larry Ogle and John Lewis. Alma was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Alma was a member of the graduating class of 1969 from Franklin Heights High School. She attended the Church of God in Newark. In her free time Alma enjoyed cooking delicious meals, reading books, and spending time with animals, especially dogs.
A Celebration of Life for Alma will be held at a later date. Her urn will be laid to rest with her husband at Pataskala Cemetery.
