He attended Brookhaven High School participating in football, wrestling, track and graduated in 1968. He was recruited to Miami University by Bo Schembechler. While at Miami he met his loving wife Pam. They married in August 1973 and spent 52 years walking thru life’s ups and downs together.
Darrell worked for Lennox Industries for 24 years, then moved on to Diebold, Newark Advocate, and finally retiring from Newark City Schools in 2009. But he also farmed with his father once they moved to Pataskala, which he greatly loved.
Darrell’s sense of humor and love to talk will be remembered by all who knew him. We will miss his harassment of us OSU fans during the game with his “Team Up North”. Most of all he loved his grandchildren and swelled with pride as he watched them grow and achieve so many accomplishments.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife Pam, their three children Matthew (Melissa), Amanda Wallace (Jonathan), and Jason (Sarah), his beloved grandchildren Colin, Emalene, Hunter, Alleigh, Owen, Isabelle, Hannah, Avery, Stevie and his sister Denise Martin (Don), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special love sent to Raymond (Judy) Wolfe, and Debbie Chevalier for their constant support through the years.
A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062.
