Doug and Jane -

There is no one I respected more in our community than your father.  Linda and I came to the community in 1974 and, as with most home purchases, there are many things to fix.  One of the first places we stopped was the local hardware store.
Dave was ever present and always ready to help.  His presence in the community was never hard to see.  Everyone knew to " Ask Dave" for directions to any hardware, political or social inquiry.  His genuine, sincere answer was the facts in a straightforward, friendly manner that he never changed all the way into 2025.  His recommendations were always to local contractors that he himself had used, repeatedly and trusted.
I shall be reminded of him every time I pass by the store (or stop in to attempt to solve another mystery of home maintenance).

Dave was the best, treated Matt extra special at church and at the hardware store. He always gave Matt extra popcorn and knew that would be the best graduation gift.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Janie, Rob, Doug and the rest of the family. I have such fond memories of visiting during holidays and summers with Aunt MaryEllen and Uncle Dave when I was a kid. Uncle Dave was a person I always looked up to and admired greatly. I’ll truly miss our conversations about local history and the opportunities we had to catch up in recent years.

On behave of the Pataskala Cemetery board of trustees, we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Beeson families'. 
It was always a pleasure to see Dave working at the store, he would always share a cemetery story with me. I understand that Dave's connection to the cemetery began in his youth and never faded. From his early days working the grounds and later serving as a guide for the history tours, Dave brought care, pride, and a touch of humor to everything he did. He often said the cemetery looked like a golf course; a reflection of the beauty he helped maintain.
With gratitude, we thank Dave for a job well done.   RIP

Moving to Pataskala in the late ‘90’s, Mr. Beeson was one of the first people I met. His store and family have certainly been a part of our life since. The friendly, willingness to help find a solution from everyone in the store was always offered. Customer service was his priority that not only shines through Doug but every single person working in the store. Always a simile and “can I help you?”

Janie, Doug, and Family, I have many fond memories of your family. I spent a lot of time with you guys growing up-lots of slumber parties, and fun times at the A-frame. I was so sad to hear that Dave had passed away.  He truly was a great man, and Pataskala is a little "less Pataskala" with his passing. My thoughts, prayers, and love are with you all!

I had the privilege of talking to Dave many many times over the last 30 years. We talked about history of the town and world. He often talked of his travels and experiences. He always offered help in his hardware store and was honestly concerned of you getting what you need for that special project.  I really enjoyed him. Will never forget his kindness. Never heard him speak a bad word about anyone.  Dave was an excellent role model for young people. They should aspire to have the same traits and insights Dave had. I will miss him in the store and will always remember our conversations through the years. Rest in peace Dave.

The Barrett's (Jack, Chris and Mary) from the UP of Michigan send our heartfelt condolences.  Dave was a wonderful human being who my Dad (Jack) fondly spoke of often.  Mary and I got to spend time with him and MaryEllen in Baltimore when they'd attend hardware conventions out there.  I had the great pleasure of sharing the Mackinaw Bridge walk with Dave on the 50th anniversary of the bridge.  He will be missed but his legacy will live on forever.

So sorry for all of our losses. He was a great man and leaves a great legacy of hardworking, respect, love and community!

I'm so sorry for the family's loss. Dave was such a nice and sweet  gentleman. We used to go to PUMC and would see him quite frequently. We enjoyed the many times he let us use his pond to fish. I remember having the church service out there by the pond, when Pastor Ruben was preaching, as well. What wonderful memories I continue to cherish!

I loved to talk to Dave. He’s the reason why we called our property Crazy Lane Farm. He told me what it used to be like there and that Watkins Rd was called Crazy Lane. We’re all lucky he lived so long!

The Beesons are such pillars of this community. Mrs. Beeson was my kindergarten teacher and it was always a given you’d see Mr. Beeson in the store doing whatever needed done. Rest in Heaven, Mr. Beeson.

My family moved to Pataskala in 1968 when my dad became the minister at the Pataskala United Methodist Church. The Beesons soon became good family friends, and my sister and brother and I knew Doug and Jane. I remember the whole family very fondly. They were gracious and hospitable and made us feel very welcome in Pataskala. My prayers go out to Doug and Jane and the rest of the family members.

As kids, my friend Dari and I thought Dave was as handsome as Paul Newman. He was always so nice to us. I’m so sorry for your loss, Doug and Janie.

My heartfelt thankyou to your dad for the service he provided to Pataskala for many MANY years. My thanks to the family who lost him to the many hours he spent keeping the store available to the townspeople. My dad, Dave Kolk, had a lot of respect for him and would stop in often just to chat when he and I would make a trip in to town. Hold on to the memories. Hugs and Support for your loss.
