

David Charles Wheatley, 48, of Pataskala, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at OSU Wexner Medical Center. He was born June 26, 1977, in Huntington, Indiana to Charles and Judith Wheatley, who survive.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Debbie Wheatley; children, Brooklynn Wheatley, Camden Wheatley, and Clay (Riley) Ashley; grandson, Crew Ashley; sister, Denise Eblin; niece, Samantha Eblin; nephew, Eric Eblin; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friends, the Caudills, Jason, Clint, Mike, Tom, and Craig. David is preceded in passing by his mother-in-law, Betty Cline.
He was indeed a devoted music enthusiast, attending concerts and festivals and connecting with fellow fans globally. His eclectic tastes ranged from classic rock (Live, Pearl Jam, U2, Foo Fighters) to pop (Celine Dion), showcasing his open-mindedness and appreciation for diverse genres. His love of music transcended geographical boundaries, fostering friendships from places as far away as London. He often expressed the belief that music unites people and brings joy.
David was a passionate supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, the University of Kansas Jayhawks, the Atlanta Braves, the Columbus Crew, and the Ohio State University Buckeyes. He enthusiastically celebrated their championship wins.
