

Donald “Don” Charles McMillin, age 85, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 6, 2026, he was surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on December 3, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles and Thelma McMillin.
Don graduated from Reynoldsburg High School in 1958. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1958 to 1962 and earned the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (E-5). During his time in the navy, he served as a mechanic for the Blue Angels and earned the title of Honorman. Don was a longtime photographer for the Licking Heights Athletics Program. In his free time Don loved to go fishing, spend winters in Florida with his wife, take his family on summer houseboat vacations to Dale Hollow Lake, he loved his Ohio State Buckeyes, and most of all he loved to spend time with his family especially the grandchildren. He was affiliated with the Summit United Methodist Church.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Diane McMillin; children, Doug McMillin and Dayna (Jason) Eckels; grandchildren, Devon (Jayla) and Kylie McMillin, and Luke and Lauren Eckels; great-grandchildren, Della, Baker, and Shepherd McMillin; sister, Donna Beck-Davis; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in passing by his sister, Joann Retterer.
There will be a private interment of Don’s urn at Dayton National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Don’s name to Gentiva Hospice, https://www.gentivahs.com/patient-and-family-resources/donate/.
