Dorothy Alma Doherty Merriman

Dorothy Alma Merriman (Doherty), age 64, of Columbus, passed away, Sunday February 9, 2014 of colon cancer. Born September 10, 1949 to the late Robert "Bob" and Norma "Cleo" Doherty. Graduate of Watkins Memorial High School, Class of 1967. Retired from Central Ohio Credit Collections after nine years of employment and previously employed for Discover Card for nineteen years. Active member of her community for many years as a volunteer and supported both the Groveport Madison School District and Madison Township Trustees. Survived by loving children, Ginger Merriman (Neal), Martin Merriman (Devin), Anthony Merriman, Angela Dawn Merriman, Meagan Nixdorf (Fred), Ian Merriman (Samantha) and informally adopted son, James (Jimmy) Goodspeed; siblings, Robert Doherty (Sherri) and Lou Ann Morse (Randy); and was "Granny" to grandchildren, Jeremy, Kaylee, Carter, Samuel, Bishop, Mary, Austin, Christian, Andrew and Ava. Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH, where Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. Rev. Barry Whitt officiating.
