Eddie Michael Scott

Eddie Michael Scott, 68, of Pataskala, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at his residence. He was born on August 1, 1955 in Chillicothe, OH, a son to the late Eugene Pence and Barbara Joann Scott. I could recite where dad was born and what schools he went to, or jobs he worked at, but, in the big scheme of life, those things aren’t important. I’m just gonna talk a little bit about my dad… Dad wasn’t the best person, father, grandfather, or husband. I think a lot of you could tell stories that would raise more than a few eyebrows. (Heh) But I will say my dad didn’t put on any airs, there wasn’t a fake bone in his body, he was a hard worker, and dad loved us girls with everything he had, even if at times we didn’t understand his methods. We once watched dad save a little boys life, he saved animals all the time, much to mom’s objections, and I remember once, my dad cried with me when I was being teased by some kid at school. My dad was hysterically funny and he and us girls shared many inside jokes… some completely wordless! Our dad taught us to love animals, he played with us when we were little, and he made THE best silver dollar pancakes. Dad gave us our ornery streak, and taught us not to take crap from anyone. My sisters and I love him no matter what kind of imperfectly perfect dad he was, he will be sadly missed and we will remember all the good times with fondness and love. Eddie is survived by his loving daughters, Jennifer (Dave) Clemons, Valerie (Scott) Binns, Brandie (Bruce) Scott-Campbell and Misty (Paul) Powell; sister, Rhonda Pence; grandchildren, Andrew, Gabrielle, Taylor, Preston, Bobbi, Brandon, Kennedy, Dominic, Skyler and Jakob; great-grandchildren, Lucy, Arthur, Brielle and Dexter. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce L. Scott and brother, Mark Pence. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
