

George was born in Westerville, Ohio on December 27, 1920 to George William and Mary (Sanders) Cooper.
Although a lifetime farmer, George served his country in WWII as a Sergeant in the US Army. While in the Army George was stationed in California where he met Leta Lorine Cole whom he married in 1944 and brought back to his farm in Ohio.
Together George and Leta raised registered Hereford beef cattle, hay and grain on their farm. An innovative man, George designed and built self propelled silage wagons to speed up the silage making process. He was active in the Grange and the Licking County Farm Bureau, leading the Peaceful Pastures Home Group for years.
George is preceded in death by his wife Leta, and is survived by his son Don Wolf, grandchildren Jamison and Sarah Ables, Shannon, Cassie, and Jojo Sheley; Judy Wampler and many other friends who will miss his quick mind and sharp wit.
A service celebrating George’s life will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the Kauber Sammons Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit and reminisce from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday April 30, 2014 at Otterbein Cemetery in Westerville. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, who have proved invaluable in this part of George’s life.
