George Lee Coverdale, born on December 9, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was 80 years old. Born to Jeremiah L. Coverdale and Sarah J. Coverdale, George grew up in Ohio and carried with him a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the importance of family throughout his life. His love for nature was evident in his favorite pastimes—camping under the stars, casting a line into quiet waters while fishing, and spending crisp mornings hunting. These activities brought him joy and peace, and he often shared them with those closest to him. When not exploring the outdoors, George cherished time spent at home surrounded by loved ones. Family game nights were a treasured tradition—filled with laughter, friendly competition, and lasting memories. His devotion to his family was unwavering; he loved them more than anything and made sure they always knew it. George is lovingly remembered by his son Troy coverdale;his daughter-in-law Carman Coverdale daughter Melanie Coverdale; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love and togetherness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah L. Coverdale and Sarah J. Coverdale.
