George Louis Powell Sr.

George Louis Powell Sr., 80, of Pataskala, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his residence. He was born on April 3, 1936 in Columbus, OH, a son to the late George and Dora (Balsimo) Powell. George was a U.S. Navy veteran. After his time in the service he was employed at Albers Grocery Warehouse for 20 years and self-employed working as a finish carpenter for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. George is survived by his loving children, George Jr., Tony (Donna), Danny (Linda), Joe, Jackie (Greg) Hastilow, Rick (Paula), Vickie (Dick), Mike (Linda), Mark (Satoko) and Jerry; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Lillian (Bill) Gordon, Mary (Jerry) Lewis, Joan Cowen, Woody (Sue), Harold (Evelyn); brother-in-law, Thomas DeVore; sister-in-law, Sarah Wallace and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his first wife, Martha; second wife, Patricia and two brothers, Frank and Roger. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 on Monday, October 24, 2016 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph Cemetery with Pastor Mark Pierce officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the start of service on Tuesday.
