

Rev. Gervaise F. Peters, was born March 27, 1924, in Wilmington, Ohio, to the Rev. Walter C. and Violet (Andrews) Peters. During World War II, he served with the armed forces in the European Theater of Operations. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1948 and from Duke Divinity School in 1951. He was ordained an Elder in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1951 and served seven churches over a period of 40 years. Since his retirement, he has been an active member of the Pataskala United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and serving on the Visitation Committee. Rev. Peters was preceded in death by wife of 55 years, Donna Courtright Peters, and two children, Linda Sue Peters and David Andrew Peters. He is survived by two daughters Marjorie Tudor of Dayton, Ohio and Janice Peters of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Hillary) Tudor, Andrew Tudor and Sara (Shane) Thomas, and three great grandchildren Camryn Tudor, Samuel Tudor and Anna Thomas. Graveside services at Reber Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:30am with Rev. Robert Kimes officiating. Memorial service will be held at Park Side at Wesley Ridge, 2225 Taylor Park Dr., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068 on Wednesday at 1:00pm.
