Grace A. Silas

February 5, 1929October 6, 2020

On October 06, 2020 loving mom Grace Silas passed away. Grace was born February 5, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Mr. Allen Silas and Carrie Silas (Thigpen) Grace moved to California and was blessed with four children Rena, Robert, Gregory and Sonny. Mom worked for many years at NCR, Lockhead and Boeing. After retirement mom did what she loved to do, taking care of the elderly and taking care of family, friends, and co-workers. Mom opened up her home to all, she was a great provider. Mom loved to travel, her passion was going on cruises and she loved to shop. Grace is preceded in death by her parents, two children, two brothers, and four sisters. Left to cherish her memory of life are her two sons Robert (Lynette) and Sonny (pam) all of Columbus, Ohio, one brother Charles, one sister Ruby (George) and five grandchildren Jermill, Keisha, Datrice, Tommy, Richard and Ranette and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close relatives and friends. My beloved family, I'm going home to be with the Lord, cry for me no more I'm at rest now and entered Heaven's door. There is no sorrow nor any tears, I've gone ahead to my Heavenly place. God has prepared a place for me. The Angels carried me, I felt just like a queen being escorted into the sky. My task on earth is done and all is well with my soul. I'm in my new home, waiting to see my family again. OH WHAT A HAPPY DAY.

Blessings & Prayers to the Whitehurst Family. Ms. Grace is a bright light. She is the grandmother of my best friend Keisha. I visited Ms.Grace often when she resided in Las Vegas. We had unforgettable fun & top secret conversations!!! Her humour was legendary. She would say things & we would laugh until water rolled from our eyes. She knew she was funny too! A light as bright as Ms. G can never be dimmed. I will always have you in heart & when I look to the stars for direction & comfort I will be searching for the tiniest brightest one!!! I love you Ms. Grace.

I am truly going to miss my aunt Grace, who wasn’t just beautiful but stylish. I always admired that about her. She was truly a classy woman from head to toe. I wish I had seen her before her passing but I do have one of her beautiful dolls she gave me that I will treasure always. Peace and Love to the Family. God Bless You.

Aunt Grace was not only one of my favorite aunts but one of my favorite people in the world. It's been years but I was blessed to have her send for me to come to California to spend a summer with her. I only wish I had the opportunity to spend more time with her when she last came to Jersey. My heart, love, and prayers are with my family. Please know that I pray for peace and comfort in your hearts and minds knowing auntie will be with the ones she missed and loved dearly that went on before her. Rest In Paradise aunt Grace. You will forever be in my heart and I'll always love and miss you. Until we meet again........Your niece, JoAnn Sanford.
