McCarty, Hargis D., 71, passed away on December 29, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 12, 1942 in Salyersville, KY, a son to the late Fred and Mae McCarty. Hargis was employed with DSCC for 51 years. He enjoyed yard work, playing with his grandchildren, home projects and working on his computer. He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Bryan and Karen; stepson, Ryan Sell; grandchildren, Britney and Demi; great grandchildren, Gage, David, and Gavin; siblings, Louise Finch and Lucille (Dick) Tilson; sister-in-laws, Ruthann (James) McDivitt and Jean (Dale) Stacker; former spouse, Marilyn; special friend, Steven (Barbara) Lynd and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm with an hour prior of visitation with Father Kevin Lutz officiating.
