Harry Barton (Bart) Parker of Newark, Ohio passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at Mount Carmel East Hospital; he was 81 years young. The son of Harry Murray and Rose Bell Core Parker, Bart was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on March 18, 1933. He graduated from Pataskala High School.
Bart was, above all else, a family man. He and his brothers, Robert (Bob) and Richard (Dick) Parker were the best of friends their entire lives. On July 12, 1959 Bart married the love of his life and his best friend, Frances Eileen Parker. They were inseparable for 47 years until her death in 2006. Their daughter, Vicki Ellen Parker survives them. Bart liked to travel and enjoyed the many sightseeing trips he took with his daughter, who was his favorite travel partner and the apple of her Father’s eye.
A lifelong music lover, Bart especially enjoyed Blue Grass music and played both piano and banjo. Whether calling a lively square dance or attending worship services at Vineyard Grace Fellowship in Heath, he was always happiest when music set his toe to tapping.
Bart loved meeting new people through his construction business and credited his busy schedule to positive word-of-mouth from his many friends and clients. When he wasn’t hard at work on a new building project, Bart enjoyed Western movies, gardening and woodworking.
Bart is survived by his daughter, Vicki Ellen Parker, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, F. Eileen Parker, parents, brothers Richard (Dick) & Robert (Bob) Parker, brothers-in-law, Ronald Burnett, father and mother-in-law Kenneth and Stella Burnett.
