Harry P. Nixon, 85, of Reynoldsburg, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1934 in Pleasant City, he was a son to the late Rev. Harry P. Sr. and Rev. Delsie Nixon Haugh. Harry built a successful parts business, serving several coal mining industries and communities in the tristate Ohio River valley region. He enjoyed attending church, hosting family celebrations, gardening, and relaxing near the ocean. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sisters, Marguerite Tansel, Juanita Hayes and brothers, John, James and Jerry Nixon. Harry is survived by his wife, Jean Nixon; sister, Ruth Schockling (Zanesville); brothers, Bill (Shirley) Haugh (TN) and Bob (Joann) Haugh (Byesville); sisters-in-law, Pat Nixon (Cambridge) and Ruth Elaine Lindenmeyer (Woodsfield). Harry was a proud father to his son Brent Nixon and five daughters: Jenni (Danny) Blair, Stephanie (Sam) Nixon, Tina Tilson, Kathryn (David) Lehman and Nicol (André) Nixon Augusté. He enjoyed 12 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Summit Station United Methodist Church, 6626 Summit Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Marie Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd. SE, Newark, OH 43055 or to the Summit Station United Methodist Church, 6626 Summit Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062 in Harry’s memory.
