Iris Marie Garberson

Iris Marie Garberson (Nana), 97, went peacefully to heaven February 3, 2015 at Mt. Carmel Hospital after a brief illness. Born October 22, 1917 in Swanton, Ohio. Iris and her husband Martin spent many happy retirement years in North Fort Myers, Florida painting landscapes, playing cards, and she reigned as regional shuffleboard champion. Prior to that they enjoyed travel with family to 48 states. She retired from Xerox. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Ruth Wagoner, husband of 53 years Martin F. Garberson and brothers Paul and Robert Wagoner, and son-in-law Bill Kidwell. Survived by daughter Marlene Kidwell of Grove City, son David of Reynoldsburg, grandchildren Jeff Kidwell (Kim), Patty Myers (Keith), Cindy Doan (Tom), Laura Bova (John), Amy Scholz (Andy), Kyleigh McCune (Seth), great grandchildren Danielle, Brent, Katherine, Andrew, Will, Maria, Natalie, Lily, and Jackson, sisters Irene Helberg, Mary Ann Cooper(Larry) and many loving nieces and nephews, dear friends Dorothy Simonds and Chuck and Glenda Soden. Family will receive visitors at 10:30 a.m. Memorial service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 9th at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church 1636 Graham Rd. Reynoldsburg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Homeless Food Missions Program at Reynoldsburg United Methodists Church in Iris’ name.
