Jacob Nathaniel Dockus, 37, of Pataskala, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born on October 22, 1981 in Akron, OH. Jacob was a graduate of Barberton High School class of 2001 and received a Bachelors from Franklin University. He is a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran serving 8 ½ years with multiple deployments in support of the Global War Against Terrorism. Jacob was an avid Cavs fan and loved fishing, hiking and the outdoors. He loved his family and was a devoted father and husband. Jacob is survived by his loving wife, Terra; children, Mia and Caris; parents, David L. (Jeni Bauder-Heidt), Leslie, Brenda Metz and Kimberly Skeen; siblings, Chasity, Krista (Jason) Boyd, Gary, Caleb and Rhonda; grandmother, Virginia M. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard Dockus and Lester (Agnes) Butler. Honoring the family wishes cremation will take place. Memorial service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the start of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Semper Fi Fund, 825 College Blvd, Suite 102 – PMB 609, Oceanside, CA 92057 in Jacob’s memory.
