Janet Bennett

She was a graduate of the class of 1971 of Warsaw High School. Upon graduation, she worked for United Telephone until meeting her husband David. They were married on September 7,1975. After several moves in the next few years, David and Janet settled in Reynoldsburg, OH in 1983.

Once Janet became a stay-at-home mom, she was very involved with the Etna Elementary PTO. Her many contributions included: running the elephant ear booth at the Pataskala Street Fair, organizing the school supply sale, and making sure the annual Santa Festival went off without a hitch. She spent a lot of time making the lives of the teachers and staff easier by making copies, laminating, and organizing in the teacher workroom.

Janet decided to return to the workforce in 1996 and she started working in the front office at Watkins Memorial High School. If you wanted to know something or have something done she was your "go to" gal. She would remain the "face" of Watkins Memorial until her retirement in 2021.

In her free time she loved being with her friends, especially their monthly "card club" nights. She never missed a sporting event for either daughter. She loved going out to eat, even if it was a hot dog and drink after a shopping trip to Sam's Club. And she always loved being around her two girls and her grandchildren.

Janet will be missed by so many. She had the best laugh and jovial spirit. Her generosity and thoughtfulness will live on through her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, David; daughters Erin (Perry) Kraft of Lewis Center, OH and Jill (Jake) Sewell of Muncie, IN; brother Phil (Barb) Landis of Katy, TX; and her beautiful grandchildren Lukas and Tenley Kraft and Blair and Bridget Sewell; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Gary Landis of Warsaw, IN.

A visitation for Janet will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St, Pataskala, OH 43062. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 10:30 AM, 289 S. Main St, Pataskala, OH 43062. A committal service will occur at Pataskala Cemetery, 9545 Creek Rd, Pataskala, OH 43062.
