OBITUARY

Joseph "Joe" R. Paskievitch

March 15, 1937March 16, 2020

Joseph (Joe) Paskievitch of Pataskala, OH passed away peacefully at home on March 16th, 2020 surrounded by his wife and daughters. Born March 15th, 1937 in Jacksonville, OH, Joe had just turned 83 years old. He was devoted to his loving wife of 61 years Janet (Nelson) Paskievitch and adored by his four daughters Valerie Griffith, Debbie Braid, Maria Weaver and Melissa Paskievitch, and his sons-in-law Terry Griffith and Barry Braid. The first college graduate in his family, Joe worked his way through school at Ohio University and met his wife Janet at O’Bleness Hospital while doing so. He was employed by Jeffrey Manufacturing where he worked his way into management in Inventory Control and worked there for more than thirty years before retiring. He and Janet enjoyed many years traveling the country in their RV and ventured to Europe a few times. Joe was a loyal member of Seton Parish where they regularly attended mass. He enjoyed sharing his passion for nature and the outdoors with his family, who cherish those memories and his sense of humor. Joe and Janet had a beautiful cabin built from hand-hewn logs on a property near Burr Oak, where they spent many hours enjoying the lake and the woods. As he aged, the great-grandkids would always bring a smile to his face. In addition to his wife and daughters and their husbands, he is survived by grandchildren Grant Griffith, Tara Miller (Dan), Jay Griffith (Kayla), Ryan Braid (Jen), Nathan Braid, John Weaver, Courtney Kerster (Matt), Gavin Weaver, Kayla Timmons and great-grandchildren Josie and Annie Miller, Owen and Madelyn Kerster, and Ivy and Louis Braid. He is survived by his sisters Marie Paskievitch and Barb Erdy (Ed), sister-in-law Anne Paskievitch and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents (Frank and Anna) and brother, Frank Paskievitch. A private mass for immediate family was held on March 19th at Seton Parish Catholic Church with interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery mausoleum immediately following. A memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
