Born on April 21, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late George and Angela Vatri, Lilly’s roots shaped her resilient and spirited character. After graduating from Independence High School, she continued her education, earning her Associate Degree at Bauder College.
To know Lilly was to experience a life lived out loud and in full color. She possessed a remarkable gift for bringing people together and making them feel at home. She most often could be found by the pool with good music playing and friends gathered near. An exceptional cook, Lilly viewed sharing a meal as the ultimate act of love, and she took immense pride in feeding those she held dear.
You always knew when Lilly entered a room. Her infectious laugh was a familiar comfort that could instantly lift the spirits of anyone around her. She approached all her passions with that same big-hearted enthusiasm, especially when it came to her unapologetic, lifelong devotion to Michigan football.
Above all else, Lilly was a profoundly devoted mother and grandmother. The center of her world was her family, and she cherished every single moment she was able to spend with her granddaughter, Lila.
She is survived and deeply missed by her daughter, Marchella; son-in-law, Dennis; her treasured granddaughter, Lila; her sister, Lorraine (James); her brother, Larry (Lori); her beloved nieces and nephews, and her faithful canine companion, Gracie.
