

Lolita Labrador Daugherty, 80, of Pataskala, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at her residence. She was born on May 17, 1943 in Inapatan, Philippines, daughter to the late Isaac and Marcela (Labrador) Orosco. Lolita is survived by her loving daughter, Melanee (Roger) Lee; granddaughter-in-law Chelsea Landis (Lee); grandson-in-law Garrett Lee; granddaughter in-law Brittany Lee; great grandchildren-in-law; Everleigh Landis and Cecelia Lee; siblings, Dominador Orosco, Carlos Orosco, Herminio Orosco and Shirley Orosco and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter-in-law, Claire Landis and siblings, Dolores Orosco, Cleto Orosco, Issac Orosco Jr., Adela Orosco, Ernesto Orosco and Jaime Orosco. Honoring the family’s wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. A celebration of life will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Bret Rizzo officiating. Lolita loved her family and often talked about growing up in rural Philippines on a farm and watching the caribou pull the plows across the fields. She often carried farm goods and groceries on her head long distances for herself and family. Living close to Clark Air Base, Philippines, she married an Air Force GI, James Belt, Melanee’s father, and moved to the U.S. Lolita worked many jobs in the U.S. and in factories. Lolita later remarried and lived in Alaska where she enjoyed the rural life once again, playing bingo, and making ceramics. Moving to Ohio to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, Lolita enjoyed dinner and movie nights out. Lolita appreciated the professional and compassionate care from her friends at the OSU James Department of Gynecologic Oncology, especially Dr. Bixel and nurse Szczepanik.
