I can't even begin to tell you what a kind soul Margaret was. She was my vocal teacher for 6 wonderful years and I am very saddened to hear of her passing. She forever changed me, not only in my vocal abilities, but as a vocal teacher myself. Many prayers to her entire family.

I just read of your mom's passing in the College of Fine Arts newsletter today. She was a kind woman of generous spirit and unflappable professionalism. Her impeccable musicianship, knowledge of vocal pedagogy and vocal repertoire shaped me as a young singer and now guide me as a voice teacher. God bless you and comfort you in this difficult time.

I am so sad to hear of Mrs. Stephenson's passing.  She was my vocal instructor for two years at Ohio University and I remember her as a patient and lovely woman.  My prayers are with all of you during this time.

Pete and Barb - It broke my heart to read of your mother's passing.  I have such great memories of her and your father.  As a student in her voice classes and later as her accompanist for others I developed a love for Art songs that continues to this day.  Our time together was always filled with joy and laughter.  She was a wonderful teacher and friend.  I send my condolences to you and your family.

I knew Margaret as a faculty emerita, having joined the voice faculty myself in 1996. For the ensuing years, she was a devoted and supportive "voice" of our division, always giving encouragement to the students and to all of us who succeeded her. Margaret's work for the Federation of Music Clubs continued to bring honor and recognition to OU. She was a fine lady and will be missed by all whose lives she touched so meaningfully.

Ernie and I send are condolences at the loss of your mother.  For so many years her personality and teaching solidified the vocal area and reputation of the School of Music.  She has continued to support music in many ways and her energy will continue to influence generations.

Your mother was my professor and she changed my life.  We exchanged Christmas cards for many years, and I always cherished her hand written notes.  She was a woman of extraordinary dignity and she will be remembered with the deepest admiration.
