Marlene Jeanette Manning, 79, recently of Pataskala, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born May 1, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to the late John E. and Evelyn (Ullery) Flory.
Marlene married her husband of 60 years, Charles A. “Chuck” Manning, on June 7, 1957 in Carmichael, California. Together, they built their large family that included many foster children who they loved on throughout the years. Marlene was blessed with a nurturing heart which made her an amazing homemaker and Labor and Delivery nurse. She was devoted to lifting others up; often sending cards and gifts to her family and friends and keeping in touch with her loved ones all over the country. Her faith in her “Precious Heavenly Father” remained strong through years of dedication, prayer, music and congregation. Her faith was lived out through serving the church in children’s ministry, visitation, and care ministry. Marlene collected works of Thomas Kincaid, angels, and jewelry.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Chuck Manning; children, David (Karen) Manning, Sherry (Matt) Steffen, Sandra Russell, Dale (Jennifer) Manning, Marcie (Jeremiah) Olson, Adrian Hacker, and Ross Manning; grandchildren, Mathias, Lisa, Nick, Hank, Zach, Carina, Libby, Jordan, Micah, Kimberly, Alison, Hilary, Eli, Ross, and Spencer; brother, Leonard (Bonnie) Flory; sister, Virginia (Dick) Webb; many cherished extended family members and relatives. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Lisa and Laura and sister, Susan Dewitt.
Memorial Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday, April 13, 2018 at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home in Pataskala. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremiah Olson officiating.
