

Maxine Faye Burns, 86, of Pataskala, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Fairhope Hospice & Palliative Care. She was born on April 22, 1940 in Clintonville, WV, a daughter to the late Charles and Grace (Shortridge) Keiffer. Maxine was a 1958 graduate of Watkins Memorial High School. She was a faithful member of Jersey Church and volunteered for many years at the Stowe Mission of Central Ohio feeding those in need. Maxine loved traveling the country with her husband Harry and enjoyed mission trips to Thailand and Israel. She was an avid reader, but most importantly she cherished her family and friends. Maxine is survived by her loving children, Mark (Carol) Burns, Donald (Sheila) Burns and Sandra (Robert) Heller; grandchildren, Kyle (Samantha), Haedyn (Kylie), Andrew (Julie), Alyssa, Emily (Drew), Michael (Sydney) and Derek (Lexie); great-grandchildren, Journey, Jemma, Ethan, Serenity, Ryleigh and Rory and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harry Burns; brothers, Dewey, Darrell, Willis, Charles and Jim and sisters, Willow Dean, Betty and Rosa Lee. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Jersey Church, 13260 Morse Rd. SW, New Albany, OH 43054. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday with an hour prior of visitation at Jersey Church with Pastor John Hays officiating. Interment will be at Kirkersville Cemetery following a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stowe Mission of Central Ohio, 888 Parsons Ave., Columbus, OH 43206 in Maxine’s memory.
