

Melinda (Mindy) Sue (Gillespie) Seymour, age 48, was transferred from this life into the arms of Jesus on July 27, 2017 at her residence in Pataskala, Ohio. Mindy was born March 18, 1969 in Newark, Ohio and was born again as a young child. She graduated from Licking County Christian Academy and then attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University. In 1988 she was married to Kerry Seymour of Gahanna, Ohio. Mindy and Kerry have one child, Kaitlyn (Seymour) Scherker. Mindy is best known for her faith in Christ. She attended and served for 20 years at Highpoint Nazarene Church in Delaware, Ohio and upon their move from New Albany to Pataskala began attending Hope Community Church of the Nazarene in Lancaster, Ohio. Mindy was employed as a Senior Registered Administrative Assistant at FPL Financial Strategies in New Albany, Ohio. She loved life and lived it to its fullest. Her family and especially her grandchildren Rylan and Micah were her “joy medicine” while she fought cancer for the past five years. She loved to worship, study the Bible, help teenagers, crotchet, cook and travel to the beach.
Mindy will be deeply missed by her husband Kerry Seymour, daughter Kaitlyn (Aaron) Scherker of Gahanna, Ohio, grandchildren Rylan and Micah Scherker of Gahanna, Ohio, parents Wade and Jill Gillespie of Newark, Ohio, brothers Tim (Tina) Gillespie of Thornville, Ohio and Sean Gillespie of Newark, Ohio as well as all of her extended family and dear friends.
Mindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Joan Dunagan, uncle, David Dunagan, aunt, Barbara Dunagan Willams and cousin Jason Spring.
Viewing hours will be Friday, August 4, from 4:00-8:00pm at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home of Pataskala, Ohio.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 5 at 11:00am at Hope Community Church of the Nazarene 3570 Coonpath Rd. NW Carroll, Ohio with Pastor Kevin Seymour officiating.
Honoring the family's wishes cremation will follow.
