Nancy Jane Smith, 66, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at her residence. She was born on August 11, 1958, a daughter to the late Donald and Vera (Wittman) Hobbs. Nancy graduated from Licking Heights High School in 1976 and was a bus driver there for 27 years. She hauled water and milk for the family dairy and decorated cakes at Kroger for 12 years. Nancy loved her flowers and log home. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 wonderful years, Mark “Smitty” Smith; daughter, Mindy (Zachary) Evans; siblings, Cathy Wedertz and Ronnie Hobbs and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy is also preceded in death by her son, Donnie Smith and sisters, Peggy Carrier and Diann Clagg. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Jersey Cemetery.
