Patti J. (Layne) Carter, age 60, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at St. Ann's Hospital. She is preceded in death by husband, Wesley Carter; parents, Doris and Lloyd Layne; brother-in-law, Daniel Eckblad and Grandma Fields. She is survived by sisters Faye Eckblad and Cindy Johnson; nieces, Dana Smark and Kari Eckblad, aunt, Donna Coffman, and many other relatives and friends. Patti was employed at Mount Carmel East Hospital at the time of her death. Family will receive friends August 26, 2011 from 1-3 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213, service immediately following. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Patti's name to Central Ohio Diabetes Association.
