

Rodney Deeds McIntosh, age 77, died peacefully on October 19, 2022. He was born on December 5, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to Glenn and Annabelle McIntosh and lived in Pataskala, Ohio all his life. Rod graduated from Watkins Memorial High School in 1962. He earned an associate degree from Sue Bennett College in Kentucky and another associate degree from Columbus Technical Institute after returning home from Viet Nam. He proudly served in the Army from 1967 to 1969 and received the Bronze Star for Valor. He married Elizabeth Jane Dixon in 1969 and they were married for 53 years. Rod started The Dairy Hut in Pataskala in 1973. In 1976, he opened the T&M Carry-out in Columbia Center and then opened Mac's Restaurant in 1980's. He was a sales manager for Stanley Bostitch and sold real estate in the Pataskala area. Rod is survived by Liz and their three children, Rodney P. McIntosh of Cincinnati; Anthony L. (Jennifer) McIntosh of Pataskala; and Alexandra J. (Eric) Deck of Gahanna. His grandchildren are Brielle (Tyler) Daniel of Cincinnati, Rylee McIntosh of Cincinnati, Alex McIntosh (Galina) of Pataskala, Joe McIntosh of Pataskala, Kaiden, Kaeson and Adrik Deck all of Gahanna; sister, Jane (Dale) Foor of Gahanna; and sister-in-law, Janell (Bill) Peters of Sun City Center, Florida; three nieces, Stephanie, Lettie, Abby and one nephew, Bill. Visitation and memorial service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022. Calling hours will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., with the memorial service following at 7:00 at the Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Pataskala, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to a Humane Society of your choice.
