Ruby Ernestine Varney

Ruby E Varney, 84, of Pataskala, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2014. She was born on July 16, 1930 in Stone, KY, a daughter to the late Lon and Lilly Mae (Hensley) Johnson. Ruby is preceded in death by her loving husband, John B. Varney; son, Terry L. Varney; brother, Alonzo Johnson; sisters, Shirley (Marion) Marquart and June Davis. She is survived by her sons, Larry Varney and Gary (Laura) Varney; daughters, Carol Preston and Patti Ripley; special son-in-law, Leonard Preston; sister-in-law, June Johnson; her most precious jewels were her very dedicated grandchildren, Jamie (Lauren) Varney, Jeff (Sarah) Preston, Larry Jr. (Jennifer) Varney, Rick (Daphne) Preston, Rusty (Carmalitta) Varney, Kristi (Garrett) Gardner, Erik (Christina) Preston and Ashley (Dusty) Grimm; many GREAT grandchildren and one GREAT GREAT grandchild. Ruby leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were very close to her heart and soul with an abundance of unconditional love for each and every one of them. Ruby's friends were many from Orlando Florida (where she resided for 14 years) to Pataskala, OH. Longtime friends include Katherine Moss and Ruby Jean Perry. Ruby loved to laugh, talk and joke but above all...she loved the LORD. RUBY. What a perfect name.... for a priceless gem! Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St. Pataskala, OH, 43062 with Pastor Bill Hayes officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the start of service. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
