

Scott Eugene Bope, 61, of Newark, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at OSU Hospital. He was born on June 12, 1964 in Westerville, OH, a son to Jack and Judy (Davidson) Bope. In addition to his parents, Scott is also survived by his loving children, Syera (Daniel) Shrigley, Selena (Andrew) Megimose, Shane (Maria) Bope and Savana (Betsy) Bope; grandchildren, Logan, Bristol, Alessia, Maverick; siblings, Randy Bope, Debbie (Barry) Gorsuch and Christina (Mark) Perri and many nieces and nephews.
Scott Bope, a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on July 3 2025. Known for his warm heart and generous spirit, Scott devoted much of his life to those he loved most, his family.
Scott's greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply. Whether it was a weekend BBQ, a family gathering, or simply sitting around the table sharing stories, Scott always found happiness in the presence of his family. If he wasn’t working, you could bet he was creating memories with those he held dear.
Before retiring, Scott was well-known in the Westerville community as the former owner of Bope Sunoco, a business he ran with pride. His work ethic and commitment to serving others were evident in everything he did. Later in his career, Scott transitioned to working for the Southwest Licking School District, where he made lasting connections and continued to serve with the same dedication.
Outside of work, Scott's love for his family was unwavering. His ability to bring people together and make them feel welcome and loved was his true gift. His laughter, wisdom, and caring presence will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Honoring Scott’s wishes, following calling hours cremation will take place.
