(Angie) Auman; grandchildren, Jake and Noah; siblings, Sherley, Carol (Tony) Vavra, James, Ginger Barcus, Richard (Kati) and Ken; brothers-in-law, Mike Petrushka, John (Ann) Petrushka, Steve (Michelle) Petrushka, Tom (Laurie) Petrushka; sisters-in-law, Michele and Kira (Ray) Schuster and many nieces and nephews. Bill grew up in Lansing, Ohio, and graduated from Bridgeport High School. After his move to Columbus, Bill had a 35-year career at Modern Builders Supply - working his way up the ladder from loading trucks to becoming a branch manager.
He was well known for his love of the outdoors, especially when it involved fishing or hunting. Whether he was reeling in a fish or sitting in his deer blind, Bill was in his element. He loved boating in his pontoon on Dillon or Buckeye Lakes, especially when family and friends could come along.
As an avid sports fan, Bill always cheered for the OSU Buckeyes as well as the Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed attending or watching games, as well as a good tailgate party!
Bill enjoyed golfing with his son Rob, his many brothers, his grandsons, and his friends. He and his wife Valerie also traveled extensively, and those trips always involved golfing/boating/fishing adventures, too.
To quote a family member, “Bill was an amazing individual - his qualities couldn’t be counted. Not only was he funny, he was generous, welcoming, insightful, and smart. He was always such good company and was always interested in what others were doing. He made you feel important and that your opinion mattered. He will be missed like few others.”
