William Larry Shrigley, 79, "Mr. U.P.S. Man", passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 at his residence. He was born September 27 1944 to the late William and Mary Shrigley in Zanesville, Ohio. He honorably served his country in the Army 342nd Military Police Company for six years during the Vietnam era.
He retired from United Parcel Service after perfect attendance of thirty-two years, but never laid down his U.P.S. jog.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Marti Powell Shrigley; son, Mark Curtis; two daughters, Susan Elaine (Brian) Ball and Holly Lorraine (Scott) Searls; six grandchildren, Cameron, Brady, Victoria, Alex, Brendon, and Karrington; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Carmie Shrigley; and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Shrigley; one brother, Robert Shrigley; and two sisters, Norma (John) Bailey and Carolyn (James) Cross.
Larry was a member of the Body of Christ for sixty years and attended Jersey Baptist Church, New Albany, Ohio. He loved his Lord, his Bible, and his family. He enjoyed teaching adult Sunday School, church singing, and playing golf with his buddies. Larry was a man of integrity, graciousness, and loyalty.
HIs favorite thing was spending time with Marti, his loving wife of fifty-eight years and his family. He looked forward to the day that he would meet his savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. Larry has realized his dream and is now safely in the arms of the Lord.
We will sorely miss him, but we WILL see him whole again soon.
Private family services will be held.
