William Monroe Thornton

William Monroe Thornton, 84, of Etna, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his residence. He was born on December 4, 1939 in Amanda, OH, a son to the late Rodney and Hilda (Young) Thornton. William is survived by his children, Billie (Terry) Helman, Jeff (Tammy) Thornton, Todd (Tamara) Thornton and Courtney (Dan) Dalton; grandchildren, Zachary (Malari) Helman, Jordan Helman, Evan (Amy) Thornton, Hannah (Kevin) Badgley, Hailee (Lou) Swisher, Elisabeth (Nicholas) Hutether, Bethany (Nicholas) Masters, Chase Thornton and Kayleigh Dalton; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Barb Williamson, Nancy Thornton, James (Donna) Thornton and Patricia Roush and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his former wife, Sandra Thornton. Honoring William’s wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Hillview Community Church, 9005 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 with Rev. Bill Hayes officiating. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the start of service. Private family interment will be at Kingwood Memorial Park at a later date.
