A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am, Thursday, Aug. 30th at the Highway Worship Center, 100 Whitley Dr., Fruitland. Pastor Thomas Young is officiating. Dean was born in Dinuba, CA on Dec. 9, 1937 to Howard and Eva (Carmichael) Dormandy. He lived and attended Grammar School and High School in Deland, CA. He also attended San Jose State University, Bethany University and George Fox University.
He taught High School at Monte Vista Christian School for two years before going to work at Raychem Corp in Menlo Park, CA. Dean retired from Raychem Corp after 32 years in Research and Development.
After retiring and moving to Idaho, Dean enjoyed volunteering at Help Them To Hope, Highway Worship Center Food Bank, and being on the church board.
Dean was a kind and gentle man, who loved the Lord with all his heart. He loved his family and his church family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew this humble man.
He is survived by his wife Sharon (King) Dormandy of Payette; daughter Julie Parker of Nampa; son Douglas (Jackie) Dormandy of Fremont, CA; his brother Garry (Janet) Dormandy of Rancho Mirage, CA; and three loving grandchildren James Leon of San Jose, CA, Madison (Jeremy) Wells of Nampa, and Larissa Dormandy of Fremont, CA.
Dean was preceded in death by his father Howard Dormandy, mother Eva Dormandy, brother Ray Dormandy and sister Hazel Jean Dormandy.
