

Derlin Joe Goddard, 55, of Middleton, Idaho passed away on Feb 17th at home with his family by his side. Born July 28, 1956 to Joe and Rosalie Goddard in Pocatello, Idaho. The family resided in Malad, Idaho until he turned 14. Then the family moved to Rexburg, Idaho. During his high school years, he spent his summers in Island Park, Idaho working at his father’s service station and enjoying the great outdoors. In Island Park he was known as Darlin Derlin by all the locals. Derlin graduated from Madison High School in 1974. In that same year, he began a successful career with Mountain Bell where he always had a smile on his face and was recognized for always wanting to go above and beyond his normal duties.
In 1988, Derlin married the love of his life, Nadine Dolphus. He and Nadine resided in Middleton, Idaho and together raised two children, Jennifer Dolphus-Jordan and Chance Goddard. His passions in life were his family and grandchildren, fishing, hunting, shooting trap, golfing, camping, and Dutch oven cooking.
Due to his hard work and dedication to Qwest, he enjoyed the luxury of retiring early at the age of 51. He spent this time enjoying his passions with family and grandchildren.
Through his thirty plus years of service at Qwest, he made numerous friends throughout Idaho because of his smile, generous heart, and energetic personality in life. His family and friends will dearly miss his laughter.
He is survived by his mother and father, Joe and Rosalie Goddard of Boise, ID; siblings, John (Jennifer) Goddard of Idaho Falls, ID and Daniel Goddard of Boise, ID; daughter Jennifer Dolphus (Mike) Jordan of Meridian, ID and son Chance Joseph Goddard of Seattle, WA; and grandchildren Isabella and Isaac Jordan. He was preceded in death by wife Nadine Goddard and his grandparents.
Graveside services will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Payette, ID at 11am Friday, February 24th, 2012, immediately followed by a celebration of his life at the Portia Club in Payette, Idaho. Visit www.PortiaClub.com for information.
