Helen M. Lightfoot Anderson joined the latest group of happy faces heading to heaven on October 18, 2016. Helen loved life and loved people. She credited her longevity to keeping active, eating three meals a day, cleaning anything and everything, but most importantly sharing her love and optimism with everyone around her.
Helen was born April 4, 1917, as the daughter of Charlie and Elsie Hartung. Helen married the first love of her life, David Lightfoot in May 1936. They shared a wonderful and happy life together in Payette until David passed away in June 1984. Their union created three sons, Gary (Barbara) now living in Colorado, Gene (Margaret) of Boise, and Ron (Kitty) of Cascade.
Helen fell in love again with Harry Anderson, an old classmate she knew in Payette. The married in June 1991. Harry’s family including Barbara (Bill) Gigray of Nampa and Conrad (Nancy) Anderson of Ontario adopted and made her very happy. She said many times she was so blessed to have had two extremely loving and caring husbands and children from both families who treated her like a Queen. Harry passed away in May 2004.
After living alone in Payette for some time she decided to move to Dorian Place in Ontario in 2012 where she could get the additional help she needed. Both families continued to visit her there where she felt very comfortable and secure. While at Dorian she especially enjoyed the Monday night dinners that Conrad shared with her and could not have been more spoiled by anyone than her frequent visitors Beverly Aldrich and her sister Margaret. They made her very happy.
Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Morris Hartung; her sister, Dorothy Boles; and her daughter, Barbara Gigray.
Helen had a very full and happy life. She will be missed but her legacy of love and optimism live on.
No public services are planned. Cremation is under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Helen’s family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.
