In the early morning hours of Thursday October 27, 2016 our precious wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Mary Lou Burt entered the mighty kingdom of God in Payette. Graveside services will be held at Parkview Cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho at 2:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2016. Condolences may be made to Mary Lou at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Service is under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
She was born Mary Louise, to Bill and Mary (Rudolph) Grasmick on April 13, 1934 in Meridian Idaho.
Mary Lou spent her younger years in Meridian with her family before they move to Parma Idaho where she lived on the family farm "Grass Acre Dairy".
In 1952 Mary Lou graduated from Fruitland high school and shortly thereafter she got her first job at the First National Bank of Portland, located in Nyssa Oregon. She continued her work there until 1955 when she left her position to become the loving wife of Bill Burt.
Together they shared 61 beautiful years of love and raised three boys, Jim (Tammy) Burt of Fruitland Idaho, Sam (Donna) Burt of Whitefish Montana, Bill (Stephanie) Burt of Elko Nevada. From this amazing love came a family of nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Mom enjoyed her life immensely. Above all else, her family was her greatest joy. She spent many summers camping and sitting by the campfire listening to "the boys" playing her favorite tunes. When mom wasn't camping, you could find her quilting a blanket for the next great grandchild, or crocheting a beautiful afghan.
Enjoy your crown mom, you earned it. Until we meet again, we will cherish every precious moment we had with you.
The family asked that in lieu of flowers that you consider a donation to the Spina Bifida Association of America (http://spinabifidaassociation.org/) in memory of Mary Lou. A cause that was dear to her heart. In care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel P.O. Box 730 Payette, Idaho 83661.
