She was born in Eagle Butte, South Dakota on May 31, 1943 to Severt and Margaret Briggs Dolphus; the fourth born of eight siblings. Renee was a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
Renee graduated from Payette High School in 1961 where she was the tiniest cheerleader in the school’s history. She was known for her joyful dancing abilities. My, how she loved to dance! In 1961 she married Fred Weimar (PHS class of 1959). They had two sons, Ronald and Timothy.
Later after divorcing Fred she met the love of her life Patrick Turner, they married in 1968. They had one son, Patrick Turner II who passed away at a young age of 24 in 1993 from cancer.
Renee worked for over 20 years for telephone companies, first with Mountain Bell in Idaho then with GTE in Washington. After working for the phone companies she worked for various electrical contractors and finished her career as an office manager for the Tulalip Tribes in Washington.
Not long after retiring she moved back to her home town, Payette, ID. She volunteered for several years at Jodi Stark’s Four Rivers Health Clinic before her failing health intervened.
Her flowers bloomed beautifully at her house in Payette, where she took special care of all kinds of plants. She was never one to get her hands dirty until she was 70 years old and after that she didn’t think twice of sitting in her garden, making it beautiful.
She is survived by her siblings and their spouses John & Suzie Dolphus, Keith and Cleo (Dolphus) Thompson, Jerry and Lynn (Dolphus) Allen, Gary Beasley & Kim (Dolphus) Goff, Doug & Donna Dolphus. Her sons, Ronald & (Chris) Weimar and Timothy Weimar. Her Grandchildren, Zach Weimar, Ronnie and Tiffany Weimar, Patrick III and Justine Turner. Her great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Carlos, Cali, Paisley, Reese and Arianna, along with many nieces and nephews.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Patrick, her son Patrick II, and her sisters, Valarie Dolphus and Nadine Goddard.
