Virginia Loving Smith

Virginia Smith, age 93, of Ontario, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16th at Evergreen Cemetery, Ontario. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Virginia was born in Chowchilla, CA on Nov. 9, 1921, the youngest of 10 children born to Charles and Huldia (Ingram) Loving. She graduated from Chowchilla High School in 1939.

Virginia was a longtime resident of the Treasure Valley. She never knew a stranger and always had time to visit with anyone. She will be remembered for her singing, dancing, storytelling and her laughter.

Virginia is survived by her children, Dianne Cox of New Plymouth, ID, Bill Lawrence of Meridian, ID, Charlie Lawrence of Milton-Freewater, OR, Bob Lawrence of Ontario, OR, Suzy Power of Burbank, WA, Ginny Wolverton of Fresno, CA, Jim Lawrence of Fresno, CA and Margie Scott of Ontario, OR; 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Her parents and all her siblings preceded her in death.
