

Mr. Anthony J. “Chuck” Morrissey, age 95, of Peachtree City, formerly of LaGrange and Long Island, New York, passed away on January 3, 2023. He was born March 12, 1927 to the late Josephine Sheridan and Anthony M. Morrissey in New York, New York. Chuck proudly serviced our country in the Navy as a Seabee during WWII before joining the New York Police Department until his retirement 25 years later in 1977. He moved the family to Georgia that year.
Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Eileen Morrissey, who he called his angel.
He leaves behind his children, Carolyn (Walter Schmalenberger, Bud (Becky) Morrissey, James (Etta) Morrissey, Marilynn (Joe) Andrews, and Michelle (Rodney) Crow; grandchildren, William (Megan), Zachary (Eleanor), John, Anthony, Matthew (Claire), Michael, and Olivia Morrissey, Jordan and Evan Schmalenberger, Austin and Chad Andrews, and Blake and Bryan Crow; great grandchild, Madison Morrissey.
Chuck was a strong, caring, loving person who was totally devoted to his family. He was a funny person who loved to joke with people. He and Eileen traveled the world and had lots of great stories. He will be truly missed but is finally with his "Angel".
The family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 101 Walt Banks Road, Peachtree City with interment at 1:30 p.m. at Westminster Memorial Gardens with military honors.
