Betty Ann (Mobley) Carroll, born on a snowy January day in 1930 to Sam and Sallie Mobley of East Point, Georgia, has passed away. As a young girl, Betty attended East Point public schools and graduated from Russell High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader.
In her early years, she married Bobby Carroll, beginning a loving and successful marriage that lasted 57 years and brought them two cherished daughters, Susie and Sallie.
When her daughters were grown, Betty Ann’s heart and time turned toward her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Granny.” With the arrival of great-grandchildren, she joyfully became “GG” — a name that even her great-great-granddaughter used in recent years.
Betty Ann had a love for collecting, beautiful clothes, and, most of all, spending time with her family — whether at home or on vacation.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bobby” Carroll, and her daughters, Susie Watts and Sallie Thompson.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Angie Schmeck (Ted), Jenny Sciullo (Jared), and Bobby Thompson (Julia); her great-grandchildren: Drew Mask (Triston), Erin Madaris (Zack), Riley and Madden Sciullo, Bobby and Sicily Thompson; and her great-great-granddaughter, Sadie.
