Billy graduated from Fulton High School in Atlanta, GA and then served in the US Navy from 1959-1963. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal in 1962. He was employed with Delta Airlines for over 30 years. He loved doing craft shows with his friend, fishing, and going to the beach. He was also a member of the Middle Fayette Church of Christ. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and T. B. Gravitt.
Billy is survived by his wife, Ann H. Gravitt; son, Carder Gravitt; daughters, Joedi Smith, Dawn L. Nelson, and Wanda Eriksen; grandchildren, Jacob Gravitt, Carleigh Gravitt, Tyler Nelson, Ryan Nelson, and Logan Eriksen; and sister, Pat J. Umphrey.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 11:00am at Sherwood Memorial Park, 6841 Tara Boulevard, Jonesboro, GA 30236 with Zack Roberson officiating.
