

Charles Edward Smith, 76, of Williamson, passed away September 5, 2020. He was born in Cobb County, Georgia on March 15, 1944 to the late James Willie Smith and Daisy Belle Whitley Smith. Owner of Charles E. Smith Plumbing Company, he did commercial plumbing throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Charles was a workaholic and loved anything outdoors and he had a barn full of equipment that any man would be proud of. He loved his dogs and was a loving family man. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Patrick Wayne Smith; and brothers, James Allen Smith and Ellis Wayman Smith.
Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Moody Smith; sons, Rodney Shane Smith and Chad Edward Smith; daughters, Angela Denise Owens; Ellen Renee Whitetree; Rachel Michelle (Chad) Matthews; Holly Ann Smith; and Kayla Gail Eaton; grandchildren, Patrick Seth (Caroline) Smith, Megan Elizabeth Smith, Alexis Michelle Matthews; Hunter Wayne Hayes; Tyler Andrew Hayes; Skyler Danyel Matthews; Madison Grace Olivia Hayes; McKenna Elyssa Rose Hayes; Chadwick Lane Matthews; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Smith, Nathaniel Lee Quick, and Savannah Rae Smith; sisters, Shirley Mae (Arley) Ayers; Regina Faye Palmer; Sheila Elaine (Steve) Wright; Wanda Charlene Case and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home with Bud Gleason and Arley Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269.
