

Dana Lyndon “Chip” Fowler, Sr., 66, of Sharpsburg, GA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, March 8, 2026. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Renee’, the love of his life and his constant companion.
He was born on September 6, 1959, in Atlanta, GA, to Dennis L. Fowler and Offie Lee Fowler. Chip was a loving husband, father, Papaw, brother, and friend who was known for his kindness, humor, strength, generosity, faith, and strong work ethic.
Chip graduated from North Clayton High School and proudly served in the United States Navy. After his service, he began his career with General Motors. During that time, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education and spent three years teaching. He later returned to General Motors, where he completed a total of 30 years of service before retiring. Even after retirement, he enjoyed staying busy and working part-time running the A & P Auto Emissions Shop, a job he did for fun and truly enjoyed.
Chip was known for his kindness, gentleness, and servant’s heart. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved bringing joy to those around him with his silliness, dancing, bird tweets, and even his talent for talking backwards. His lighthearted spirit and genuine care for others made him someone people naturally loved being around.
Chip is survived by the love of his life, Renee’ Crews Fowler; his children, Dana L. Fowler, Jr. (LeeAnn) and Lauren Fowler Duck (Aaron). He was a proud grandfather to Ashleigh Fowler, Jayden Fowler, Chloe Duck, Sadie Duck, and Camden Duck, who brought him great joy.
He is also survived by his brother, Dale L. Fowler, Sr. (Colleen); his brother-in-law, Terry Crews III (Celeste); and his sister-in-law, Pam Bruce (David), parent-in-law, Shirley Crews; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; along with numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Leighton Fowler and Offie Lee Fowler; his brother, Dennis Laverne Fowler; and his parents-in-law, Terry Crews Jr. and Lou B. Crews.
A visitation will be held at Carmichael–Hemperley Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269 on Sunday, March 15, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 16, at 12:00 p.m. at Go Church, 3935 GA-34 E, Sharpsburg, GA 30277, with a visitation, beginning at 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow the service at Turin Memorial Garden in Turin, 29 Church St, Turin, GA 30289.
Chip lived a life grounded in his faith in the Lord, devoted to his beloved wife, and centered around his family. His kindness, servant’s heart, and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew him, and the love he poured into his family will continue to live on for generations.
